Play a remake of the classic Mario game, complete with Luigi and Princess Toadstool.
Those who enjoy a bit of nostalgia will enjoy playing this remake of the Nintendo game, Super Mario. It's like playing on an original Nintendo system on the computer. The graphics could use some work, but the idea behind the game is superb. You can be either Mario or Luigi while breaking bricks to get coins and jumping on mushrooms. Increase your size in the game, and throw fireballs after finding hidden flowers.
When you're playing as Mario, you'll see that he still has his original spunk. However, he's been updated to reflect the modern gaming world. His overalls are slightly changed so that they are a little more modern, and his hat has received a face lift as well. The theme of the game is the same as the original.
There are several levels to complete, and if you die in a level, you have to start at the beginning of that level or a certain spot where the play was saved. You'll see the ducks waddling in your path as well as a few noted enemies, such as the flowers that pop up out of the green pipes.
You will find a few disappointments in the game. There are only five levels, and they are very short. It's a game that gives you a taste of what it was like to play Mario instead of the complete version that was popular in the '80s. You might not invest hours in the game, but it's enough to take you on a stroll down memory lane with Mario and his friends.
Pros
- Brings a lot of memories to the older generation
- Excitement in each level
- Same basis as classic game
Cons
- Only has a few levels of play
- Graphics aren't great
- Very slow on older systems
